Know About Our Services

Your health deserves clarity. Here, we provide a detailed breakdown of the tests and scans we perform.

Radiology & Imaging
Ultrasound & Doppler Services
Abdomen & Pelvis
What is it?

This is a non-invasive scan that uses sound waves to create images of the organs in your abdomen (like the liver, gallbladder, pancreas, kidneys, and spleen) and pelvis (like the bladder, uterus, and ovaries).

Why is it done?

It helps diagnose the cause of abdominal pain, check for stones in the gallbladder or kidneys, evaluate the liver, and examine reproductive organs.

How is it done?

A clear gel is applied to your skin, and a small handheld device called a transducer is moved over the area. It's a painless procedure that usually takes 20-30 minutes.

Precautions/Preparation:

You may be asked to fast for 6-8 hours before the scan to ensure your organs are clearly visible. For pelvic scans, you might need to drink water and have a full bladder.

Obstetrics (Pregnancy Scans)
What is it?

These are a series of ultrasound scans performed throughout pregnancy to monitor the health and development of the baby.

Why is it done?

To confirm the pregnancy, determine the due date, check for multiple babies, screen for abnormalities (like in an Anomaly/TIFFA scan), and monitor the baby's growth and position.

How is it done?

Similar to an abdomen scan, a gel is applied to the belly, and a transducer is used to see the baby. It's safe for both mother and child.

Precautions/Preparation:

In early pregnancy, you may need a full bladder. For later scans, no specific preparation is usually required. Follow your doctor's advice.

Musculoskeletal (MSK)
What is it?

An MSK ultrasound uses sound waves to produce pictures of muscles, tendons, ligaments, nerves, and joints throughout the body.

Why is it done?

It's used to help diagnose sprains, strains, tears, trapped nerves, arthritis, and other musculoskeletal conditions, especially in areas like the shoulder, knee, and ankle.

How is it done?

Gel is applied to the skin over the area of concern. A transducer is moved over it to capture images. You may be asked to move the joint to see the anatomy in action.

Precautions/Preparation:

No special preparation is typically required for this scan.

Doppler Studies
What is it?

A Doppler ultrasound is a special technique that evaluates blood flow through arteries and veins in the body, such as in your arms, legs, and neck.

Why is it done?

It's used to find blood clots (like DVT), check for blocked or narrowed arteries (like in Carotid Doppler to assess stroke risk), or evaluate varicose veins.

How is it done?

It's a painless procedure similar to a regular ultrasound. You may hear a "whooshing" sound, which is the sound of your blood flowing.

Precautions/Preparation:

Generally, no preparation is needed. For some specific abdominal doppler studies, you might be asked to fast.

Small Parts
What is it?

This is an ultrasound focused on smaller, more superficial parts of the body, such as the thyroid gland, breasts, scrotum, and various lumps or swellings on the skin.

Why is it done?

To get a highly detailed view to check for cysts, tumors, inflammation, or other abnormalities in these specific areas.

How is it done?

A clear gel is applied to the area, and a high-frequency transducer is used to get sharp, detailed images. The procedure is quick and painless.

Precautions/Preparation:

No special preparation is required.

Special Scans
What is it?

These are advanced ultrasound procedures, including Transvaginal Scans (TVS) for a clearer view of female pelvic organs, and Follicular Studies to track the development of ovarian follicles.

Why is it done?

TVS is often used to investigate fertility issues, pelvic pain, abnormal bleeding, or to get a better view in early pregnancy. Follicular studies are a key part of monitoring ovulation for infertility treatments.

How is it done?

A TVS involves inserting a small, specialized probe into the vagina. While it may cause mild discomfort, it is not painful. Follicular studies are performed similarly.

Precautions/Preparation:

An empty bladder is required for a TVS, which is the opposite of a standard pelvic ultrasound.

Cardiology Services
2D Echocardiography (Heart Scan)
What is it?

A 2D Echo is an ultrasound of the heart. It provides moving pictures that show the size and shape of your heart, how well its chambers and valves are working, and can pinpoint areas of heart muscle that aren't contracting well.

Why is it done?

It's a key test to diagnose and monitor various heart conditions, such as heart valve problems, heart failure, and damage from a heart attack.

How is it done?

You'll lie on a table while a sonographer applies gel to your chest and moves a transducer to capture images. It's painless and non-invasive.

Precautions/Preparation:

No special preparation is needed. You can eat and drink normally before the test.

ECG (Electrocardiogram)
What is it?

An ECG records the electrical signals in your heart. It's a common and painless test used to quickly detect heart problems and monitor your heart's health.

Why is it done?

To find the cause of chest pain, detect irregular heartbeats (arrhythmias), see if blocked arteries are causing heart problems, and check the health of the heart before surgeries.

How is it done?

Small, sticky electrodes are attached to your chest, arms, and legs. These are connected to a machine that records your heart's electrical activity. The test only takes a few minutes.

Precautions/Preparation:

No special preparation is necessary. Avoid oily or greasy skin creams on the day of the test as they can prevent the electrodes from making good contact.

Digital X-Ray
Chest X-Ray
What is it?

A Chest X-ray is a quick and painless imaging test that produces pictures of the structures inside your chest, such as your heart, lungs, and blood vessels.

Why is it done?

It is commonly used to diagnose conditions like pneumonia, tuberculosis, lung cancer, and an enlarged heart. It's also used to check for rib fractures after an injury.

How is it done?

You'll stand in front of an X-ray plate and will be asked to hold your breath for a few seconds while the image is taken. The procedure is very fast.

Precautions/Preparation:

You will be asked to remove any metal objects like jewelry from your chest area. Inform the technician if you are or might be pregnant.

Orthopaedic X-Rays
What is it?

These are X-rays focused on the bones and joints of the body, such as the spine, arms, legs, hands, and feet.

Why is it done?

To detect fractures (broken bones), check for joint dislocations, diagnose arthritis, and monitor bone healing after an injury or surgery.

How is it done?

The part of your body being examined will be positioned between the X-ray machine and the imaging plate. You will need to stay still for a moment while the picture is taken.

Precautions/Preparation:

Remove jewelry or any metal objects from the area being imaged. Inform the technician if there's any chance you are pregnant.

Abdomen X-Ray
What is it?

An X-ray that provides an image of the abdominal area, including the stomach, intestines, liver, and spleen.

Why is it done?

It is often used in emergency situations to investigate the cause of sudden abdominal pain, look for kidney stones, or detect an intestinal blockage or a perforated organ.

How is it done?

You will typically lie on a table while the X-ray is taken. You'll be asked to hold still and hold your breath for a few seconds.

Precautions/Preparation:

Inform the technician if you are or could be pregnant. You may be asked to remove jewelry and other metal objects.

Lab Tests
Hematology & Clinical Pathology
Complete Blood Picture (CBP)
What is it?

Also known as a Complete Blood Count (CBC), this is a common blood test that evaluates the three main types of cells in your blood: red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets.

Why is it done?

It helps detect a wide range of disorders, including anemia, infection, and leukemia. It's often part of a routine health check-up.

How is it done?

A small sample of blood is drawn from a vein in your arm using a needle. The process is very quick.

Precautions/Preparation:

Usually, no special preparation is needed. You can eat and drink normally unless your doctor has also ordered other tests that require fasting.

Diabetes Profile
HbA1c (Glycated Hemoglobin)
What is it?

A blood test that provides your average blood sugar levels for the last 2 to 3 months. It measures the percentage of hemoglobin (a protein in red blood cells) that is coated with sugar.

Why is it done?

It is a primary test to diagnose prediabetes and diabetes and is also used to monitor how well a person's diabetes treatment plan is working.

How is it done?

A small blood sample is taken from a vein in your arm or from a finger prick.

Precautions/Preparation:

No fasting is required for this test. You can eat and drink normally beforehand.

Kidney Function Test (KFT)
Serum Creatinine & Blood Urea
What is it?

These are key markers in a Kidney Function Test (KFT). They measure the levels of waste products (creatinine and urea) in your blood. Healthy kidneys filter these wastes out.

Why is it done?

High levels of creatinine or urea can indicate that the kidneys are not functioning properly. The test is used to screen for, diagnose, and monitor kidney disease.

How is it done?

A simple blood draw from a vein in the arm is all that's needed.

Precautions/Preparation:

You may be asked to fast for 8-12 hours before the test. Inform your doctor about any medications you are taking.

Liver Function Test (LFT)
Bilirubin, SGPT, SGOT
What is it?

An LFT measures the levels of certain enzymes (like SGPT and SGOT) and proteins (like bilirubin) in your blood. These levels can indicate the health of your liver.

Why is it done?

To help diagnose liver diseases such as hepatitis, cirrhosis, and fatty liver. It is also used to monitor the effects of medications on the liver.

How is it done?

A blood sample is taken from a vein in your arm.

Precautions/Preparation:

You may need to fast for 10-12 hours before the test. Your doctor will provide specific instructions.

Thyroid Profile (T3, T4, TSH)
Thyroid Function Test
What is it?

This is a group of blood tests that measure how well your thyroid gland is working. It measures levels of Thyroid-Stimulating Hormone (TSH), Thyroxine (T4), and Triiodothyronine (T3).

Why is it done?

To diagnose thyroid disorders like hypothyroidism (underactive thyroid) and hyperthyroidism (overactive thyroid), which can cause symptoms like fatigue, weight changes, and mood swings.

How is it done?

A simple blood draw from a vein in your arm is required.

Precautions/Preparation:

Usually, no preparation is needed, but check with your doctor as some medications can interfere with the results.

Lipid & Cardiac Profile
Lipid Profile
What is it?

This test measures different types of fat in your blood: total cholesterol, LDL ("bad") cholesterol, HDL ("good") cholesterol, and triglycerides.

Why is it done?

To assess your risk of developing cardiovascular diseases like heart attack and stroke. It's a key part of preventive heart health.

How is it done?

A blood sample is taken from a vein in your arm.

Precautions/Preparation:

Fasting for 9 to 12 hours before the test is required for accurate results. You should only drink water during this time.

Orthopedic Panel
RA Factor (Rheumatoid Factor)
What is it?

A blood test that measures the amount of rheumatoid factor, an autoantibody, in your blood.

Why is it done?

It is primarily used to help diagnose rheumatoid arthritis and Sjögren's syndrome. A positive result can indicate an autoimmune condition.

How is it done?

A simple blood draw from a vein in your arm.

Precautions/Preparation:

No special preparation is needed for this test.

Vitamin D
What is it?

This blood test measures the level of vitamin D in your blood, which is essential for strong bones as it helps the body use calcium.

Why is it done?

To check for vitamin D deficiency, which can lead to bone problems like osteoporosis or rickets. It's important for overall bone health.

How is it done?

A sample of blood is taken from a vein in the arm.

Precautions/Preparation:

No special preparation is typically needed.

Iron / Anemia Profile
Iron Studies (Serum Iron, Ferritin)
What is it?

This panel of tests measures different substances in the blood to check iron levels. Ferritin is particularly important as it shows how much iron is stored in your body.

Why is it done?

To diagnose iron deficiency anemia (a common cause of fatigue and weakness) or hemochromatosis (a condition of iron overload).

How is it done?

A blood sample is taken from a vein in the arm.

Precautions/Preparation:

This test usually requires fasting overnight. It is best performed in the morning as iron levels can vary throughout the day.

Infectious Diseases & Serology
Dengue Test (NS1, IgG, IgM)
What is it?

These are blood tests used to diagnose dengue fever. The NS1 test detects the virus itself early in the infection, while IgG and IgM tests detect the antibodies your body produces to fight the virus.

Why is it done?

To confirm a dengue diagnosis in a patient with symptoms like high fever, severe headache, joint pain, and rash. Early diagnosis is crucial for proper management.

How is it done?

A simple blood sample is taken from a vein.

Precautions/Preparation:

No special preparation is required.

Widal Test
What is it?

A serological test used to help diagnose typhoid fever, an infection caused by the Salmonella bacteria.

Why is it done?

It detects antibodies in a patient's blood against the two antigens (O & H) of the Salmonella bacteria. It's considered if typhoid fever is suspected based on symptoms.

How is it done?

A blood sample is drawn from a vein in your arm.

Precautions/Preparation:

No specific preparation is needed.

Cancer Markers
PSA (Prostate-Specific Antigen)
What is it?

This test measures the level of Prostate-Specific Antigen (PSA), a protein produced by the prostate gland, in a man's blood.

Why is it done?

It is used as a screening tool for prostate cancer. Elevated levels can indicate cancer, but can also be caused by other non-cancerous conditions like an enlarged prostate or infection.

How is it done?

A blood sample is drawn from a vein in the arm.

Precautions/Preparation:

You may be advised to avoid ejaculation or vigorous exercise for a day or two before the test, as this can temporarily raise PSA levels.

Microbiology
Microscopy, Culture & Sensitivity
What is it?

A test to find and identify germs (usually bacteria) that may be causing a urinary tract infection (UTI). The "sensitivity" part checks which antibiotics will be most effective against the germs found.

Why is it done?

To accurately diagnose a UTI and to guide the doctor in choosing the most effective antibiotic for treatment, which helps prevent antibiotic resistance.

How is it done?

You will need to provide a "mid-stream clean-catch" urine sample in a sterile container. This involves cleaning the genital area first to avoid contamination.

Precautions/Preparation:

It is crucial to follow the instructions for collecting a clean-catch sample carefully to ensure the results are accurate.
